16 Memorable Things in 2016

Happy NYE!

Hope everyone is having great holidays with beloved ones.

I personally feel like I am not that ready for 2017, so here I am trying to wrap up 2016 by listing those memorable things that happened to me this year.

I hope I could be a bit more ready by the time I finish writing this post...

So here we go.

(FYI : The listed numbers do not mean anything that it is just so random.)

ハッピーニューイヤーズイブ！

大晦日ですね〜

昨日まで普通に仕事でしたし、年末の実感が全くといっていいほどない！汗

ということで2016年に起きた、特筆すべき16のことを書いていこうとおもいます。

これを書き終わる頃には少し、2017年に向けて気持ちの準備ができていればいいな。笑

（順番は時系列や重要度と全く関係ないランダムです！）

Going back to Japan twice in this year.

Normally I go back to my country once a year, but this year our entire family was having hard time for certain reasons.

I am still glad that I made it to there as I hoped to be with my dearest family.

Even though it was a bit hard for us to stay positive with the circumstance, my sister and I found time to go out for some refreshment.

日本に２回帰りました

いつもは年に1度帰れば良いほうだけど、今年は祖父のこともあり2度帰りました。

お休み取らせていただき会社に感謝。

合わせると1ヶ月弱ほど休みをいただき、申し訳ない気持ちももちろん大きかったのですが、祖父の最期を皆で過ごせてよかった、と今振り返っても改めて思います。祖父ともまた色んな思い出が出来たので、傍に居ることができて幸せでした。病院通いの合間にはみなみと時間を見つけてちょっとお出かけしたりもしたよ。

Getting a working VISA.

Fortunately I was offered by my company to get a support by them for a working VISA. I really like living here, so I was like "why not." I had to go to US embassy in Akasaka, Tokyo to do an interview for the VISA, and it was definitely worth flying to Tokyo since the examination was successfully done.

就労ビザ取得

家族の事情で日本に帰るならついでに、就労ビザの面接も受けてきたらどうでしょう？と会社からオファーをいただき、赤坂のアメリカ大使館まで面接を受けに行きました。面接はとても緊張した〜でも無事におりたのでわざわざ1度高知に戻った後にまた東京に行った甲斐があったなーと思いました。笑 面接は正確には2015年の末だったんだけれど、VISAのついたパスポートがおうちに送られてきたのが1月の頭で、このあと無事にアメリカに帰り、入国審査の時に今まで学生VISAでは言われたことのなかった"Welcome Back."というセリフを言われ、なぜかとても感激した記憶があります。笑

My very first business trip to New England.

I felt super nervous and lucky to be sent on the business trip for the first time in my life. It had been almost a year since I started working for my company. The destination is East coast, New England! I explored Boston and Newport, Rhode Island. Also to actually meet with people who I usually e-meet or call was unforgettable!

ニューイングランド地方に人生初めての出張

緊張とわくわくが入り混じった出張でした。入社1年後に出張のお話を頂けて本当に恵まれてるので、与えられたチャンスを最大限活かそうと必死でした！行ったことのなかったボストンとロードアイランド。新しい発見がいっぱいの旅でした。あと観光だけでなく、普段メールや電話でやりとりしている人たちと直接お話ができて、不思議な気持ちと同時にとても感激した！

Saying goodbye to my dearest person.

My grandfather passed away in February which got me down for more than a few months. It was by far the hardest thing to deal with... but at the same time, we all felt kind of relief because he is no longer hurt by anything and could get rest in peace. I always have him in my heart so that I could feel stronger.

祖父を亡くした2月

1月にアメリカに帰ってきてまたすぐに祖父の容態が悪くなり、祖父は2月に息を引き取りました。おかしくなるくらいに皆で泣いたけれど、もう痛い思いも苦しい思いもしてないんだな、と思うと安心する気持ちもありました。本当にたくさんの思い出をくれた大好きなおじいちゃん。今でも毎日思い出しては泣きそうになるけど、心の中でずっと一緒と思うと心強いです。

Feeling deeper than ever about my bf.

After the loss, my bf was always there being supportive for me. Thank you for being unbelievably generous. :)

今まで以上の感謝

アメリカに帰ってきてからも、祖父のことで落ち込む時間が多かったけど、風太がいつもそばに居てくれて、わざと励ますでもなく、ただただ私が私で居ることを許してくれました。本当に感謝、ありがとう。

Summer Vacation by the pool❤︎

We traveled to Palm Springs in August which most of people do not thing it is a good idea...(since it gets too hot there.) Yes they are probably right... but yet, I enjoyed chilling by the pool with my fave people.

プール際で過ごす夏休み❤︎

8月には3泊でプチ旅行！大好きなパームスプリングスは、砂漠の中にあるので、夏は本当に暑くなります。（40℃越えは普通。。。）でもそんな中で暑い暑いと叫びながらもプール際で大好きな人たちと過ごせてハッピーでした❤︎

We went to Joshua Tree National Park on the trip. I could share my first experience here.... I got stung by a bee. BEEEE careful if you are stopping by Cholla cactus garden.

LAから一番近い国立公園の、ジョシュアツリーにも行きました！そこで人生初、蜂に刺されびっくり。。。この写真ではこんなに笑っているのに、このあとショックでぐったりでした笑 皆に心配かけました、ごめんね。。

My precious shopping experience

YES, I've got my very first Saint Laurent bag! I will cherish this as long as I could so I will be able to pass down to my daughter (or grand daughter... whoever likes to use it as my mother lets me. :) )

初めてのYSL…

念願のサンローランのバッグを買いました！なんだか大人になった気分。大切に使って、将来もし娘ができたら使って欲しいなぁと密かに思ってます。

We moved.

We moved closer to my office. I love this place so much... This is the best place I have lived in the states so far! I am not planning to move out next year but no one would know....

引っ越しました。

会社の近くに引っ越しました！引っ越しはもう3回目なので慣れたけど、大変だからこれ以上動きたくない、、、このおうちすごく気に入ってるし。2017年は引っ越さなくて良いように祈っておくけど、さてどうなるでしょうか？

Loved cooking more than ever.

After I moved, I started trying cooking new stuff I had never tried before; Japanese, American and Italian dishes. Next year I will try to cook more different kinds of dishes to make my belly satisfied!

色んな料理に挑戦。

引っ越してからキッチンも使い勝手がよくなったので、今まで作ったことのない料理に挑戦しました！和食をはじめ、アメリカンやイタリアンなど。来年も引き続き、色んな国の料理を作ってみたいな〜各国の調味料を集めたいです。

Chatting with my BFF never gets old.

Here is my cute BFF from Cambodia whom I have known for almost 5 years and half now. She is very caring that I sometimes call her mom. lol Cannot wait to catch up with her and our other bffs together next year!

親友との他愛もないおしゃべり。

昔から私のブログによく出てくるこのこ。笑 カンボジア出身のロタナちゃんです！語学学校で知り合ってもう5年半だけど、会って話すといつも変わらずあの頃に戻ったような気持ちになるのです。また年始に会うので楽しみ！

Laduree just opened up in LA!

Some of you guys think like "what? Is this that big deal to you?" ... yes, to me it is a huge deal and it sure sounds a bit crazy, but I had been waited for this moment for tooooo long! I am sure I will find any excuse to stop by here and get some macaroons,,,

大好きなラデュレがLAにきたよ❤︎

なんでLAにはラデュレがないのか、とずっと待ってたんです。やっと、やっとできましたよ！それが今年の思い出のひとつなの？と笑われるかもしれないけど、私にとってとてもハッピーな出来事でした笑 もうTo Goでケーキを食べたけど、来年はぜひその場でお茶したいな。

My new bag came all the way from London...

This one is the one my bf got me for my birthday gift. If you take a look a little bit closer, you see my initials are painted on the right side of the bag which makes it very special! Thank you baby for getting me the personalised one...❤︎

誕生日プレゼントはロンドンから❤︎

ずっと気になっていたブランドのバッグをプレゼントしてくれました！バッグの右側にさりげなく金色でイニシャルのペイントを入れたところが一番お気に入り。カジュアルな服にもとても合うので使いやすくお気に入りです。風太ありがとう❤︎

Attended book-signing of Aimee Song!

Congrats to one of my most fave bloggers Aimee Song who made the New York Times Bestseller list with her first book "Capture Your Style." I love the way she motivates other people anything towards good. I was so happy to see her in person and tell her that she is my inspiration. :)

Once in a while, it happens to you to meet with famous people when you live in Los Angeles. This year I met the famous YouTuber Jenn in DTLA where she moved into from San Francisco. She was very pretty and kind as you can tell from her videos.

YouTuberのジェンちゃんに遭遇！

LAに住んでいたら有名人と遭遇する機会もあるのですが、今年は有名なYouTuberのジェンちゃんをDTLAで見かけて、かわいすぎたので思わず声をかけちゃいました！サンフランシスコからLAに引っ越してきたジェンちゃん。最近のインスタをみたら婚約したみたい...❤︎おめでとうございます！
