His Birthday : 2016

Last week my boyfriend and I celebrated his 22nd birthday!

It is 3rd time that we spend his birthday together, so I took long to come up with the plan,

and this year I decided not to surprise him too much, but instead I asked him what he really wants.

先週末は、風太の誕生日のお祝いをしました♪

本当は月曜日（26日）が誕生日だったけれど

二人とも平日は仕事や学校があるので...前日の日曜日に！

今年でもう一緒に祝うのは3回目なので、

プレゼントや行く場所はどうしようかな〜とかなり長い間考えていたのですが。。。

あまりサプライズはなしで素直に行きたい場所や食べたいもの、欲しいものを聞くことに笑

これが一番確実よね笑

GIFT : He always wanted a new backpack so we stopped by the TIMBUK2 in Abbot Kinney.

He happily found what he really like there :)

We actually went there on the labor day weekend,

so we got 20 or 25% discount on that which made me happy as well lol

ギフト : 新しいリュックが欲しかったらしいので、

アボットキニーに路面店のあるTIMBUK2というお店にふらっとよると

なかなか可愛いのに出会えたらしく購入。

行った時にラッキーなことにSALEだったので私も嬉しかったです笑

このブランド、サンフランシスコ発で結構有名みたい。

デザインがカスタマイズ出来たりするみたいですよ！

ONE SURPRISE : Although I wasn't thinking to do some surprise,

I suddenly came up with the plan to take him to watch the American league soccer game

which I knew it was his dream for a long while.

He literally loves soccer (both watching and playing) so I just wanted to see his happy face :))))

I bought the game tickets at the last minute (which is like what,,, 2 days before the game? lol)

and the day before the game, I let him find out of this.

I put the e-tickets into the box and gave him, and he opened up and he was like

"What?! OMG Really? Are you serious?!"

He really looked like a little kid there... lol

I have to admit that I was super happy to see that though.

サプライズ : サプライズはなしでいいか、と直前まで思っていたものの

なんかないかな〜と考えてて思いついたのがサッカー観戦！

いつも観に行きたいって言っていたので笑

試合の2日前とかにチケットを買ったので、本当にギリギリ。笑

試合前日に渡したら「え、まじで？！まじで？」と子供みたいに嬉しそうでした。笑

LUNCH : @ Green Door Powered by Intelligentsia

This cafe just opened up a few months ago in my neighborhood,

so we wanted to check out!

Nice atmosphere and good selection of pastries, of course coffee as well!

(I am not a big fan of caffein though....)

We ordered Greek chicken salad and bacon guacamole grilled cheese sandwich.

wasn't expecting that much for their food, but I was wrong!

They were tasty and satisfying.

I cannot give any review about their drink since we did not order any.

Next time for sure!

ランチ : 近所に最近オープンしたカフェに行ってきました！

サッカー会場からも近くてよかった。雰囲気もよいし、パンもたくさんおいてあったり。

インテリジェンシアというシカゴ発のサードウェーブコーヒーショップ、

こっちで結構いろんな場所にあり有名なんだけど、そこがプロデュースしてるお店らしい。

POSTCARD : The one thing I always make sure for his birthday is

to get a cute postcard with a little sense of humor.

This year I was busy around so just went to Target but still found this cute one!

ポストカード : いつも可愛いくてユーモアなものを探すようにしてます。

今年は忙しかったのでターゲットで済ませましたが、結構可愛いのありますよ❤︎

全部似たような意味で、リラックスしてダラダラ過ごすって書いてます。笑

ちょうど風太の着てるシャツもバイカラーでパンダっぽい笑

THE GAME : LA galaxy vs. Seattle thunders.

It was very exciting see the game very close to the field!

There was a moment of those players got really rough and who doesn't enjoy it?

On the half time, little kids came out and played a mini game and it was super cute!

Oh, those who are planning to go watch it, DO NOT FORGET TO BRING SUNSCREEN.

試合観戦 : ロサンゼルス・ギャラクシー対シアトル・サンダースの試合。

席に座ってみると近くて思ったより見えやすかった！

そして試合内容もまぁ、面白かったかな？

途中かなり選手同士やりあってたけどね、それも試合の醍醐味ですよねー

ハーフタイムに子供達が出てきて試合してるのがとっても可愛かった❤︎

手前のピンクのユニフォームは女の子たちなの！

私たちの座ってるところは途中から影になっていったからよかったけど、この日かなり暑くて頭痛がしてました。。

日焼け止めは必需品です！！

あと備忘録として、食べ物、飲み物は持ち込みOK、（売ってるけど高い）

パーキングは15ドルしました。。意外と高いパーキング

DINNER : @ Hamasaku in Century City.

As I mentioned before, this year it was all about what he wanted.

I asked him what he wanted for dinner, and the answer was SUSHI!

He even yelped by himself and let me know this place which looked so nice, so we decided to come over.

I highly recommend to make a reservation for this restaurant since it seemed super busy on even Sunday night.

Both of us ordered "omakase" (means "trust the chef") - 7 course menu for $75.

1st ... two piece row oysters

2nd ... white fish tempra

3rd ... asari sakamushi

4th ... sashimi (tuna, rock fish and scallop)

Each piece of food was delish!

Ingredients were fresh and menus were not too arranged.

ディナー : @ Hamasaku センチュリーシティにあります。

何が食べたいか聞いたらお寿司！ということで。

でも風太、自分でYelpして調べてきたからね笑 （私も一応調べたけどここが一番良さそうだったので！）

日曜日の夜なのにものすごーく混んでたので、とっても人気のお店なんだなぁと。

ぜひ予約をおすすめします！

私たちはおまかせの7コースを頼みました。

生牡蠣に白身魚の天ぷら、あさりの酒蒸しにお刺身。 全て美味しくて幸せでした！

新鮮な素材を活かすシンプルな味付け。

5th ... sushi (nigiri style)

ikura is my all time favorite. ikura I had here tasted so much different from the regular ikura.

Usually ikura is salty which is why some people don't really like it,

but ikura from Hamasaku had refreshing flavor of something citrus. (maybe yuzu I guess...?)

I was so surprised yet loved it at the same time.

6th ... skillet wagyu steak with crown daisy.

very flavorful and tender.

7th ... creme brulee cake with fruit salad

yum yum yum

Overall, we felt full of happiness with food served there and their service.

If you are looking for a modern yet authentic sushi place, this is the one.

I was so grateful to celebrate his birthday this year again.

The day is another unforgettable one.

5品目はお待ちかねの握り！ネタが肉厚で美味しかった。

何よりびっくりしたのは、イクラ！

普通イクラって多少なりとも醤油の味で塩辛いじゃないですか、

でもここのは全然で、柚子か何かの柑橘系の香りがふわっと口の中に広がり、初めてのイクラのお味でした。

6品目、和牛ステーキ。

お吸い物か何か出てくるのだろうと構えていたらなんとステーキ！

これにはいい意味で裏切られた。

デザートは大好きなクレームブリュレでハッピー❤︎

全体的にとても満足度の高いお食事でした！サービスも然り...

今年もまた好きな人のお誕生日祝えて幸せだな〜と思いました。❤︎

風太も喜んでくれてよかった！

いやーまたお仕事頑張ってここ食べにいこう。笑
